When it comes to underground music events it doesn't come much purer than Acetate, the brainchild of Hessle Audio man David Kennedy (aka Pearson Sound), and with the tag line; 100% vinyl through a 1970s rotary mixer it's no great surprise either.
Residing in the intimate confinements of Wire Club, Leeds – the city which saw the likes of David Kennedy, then Ramadanman, and Hessle Audio partner Ben UFO, alongside several other now prominent UK DJs and producers blossom – Acetate is a true labour of love. Previous guests have included Sven Wesiemann, Oneman, Pinch, Peverelist, Kowton, Kode9, Jackmaster and of course Pearson Sound with this month's booking continuing the past trend of incredible tastemakers as BBC Radio 6 maestro and Brownswood Recordings boss Gilles Peterson mans the controls.
Gilles' weekly BBC Radio 6 Music show is a true go to guide for the finest music around and his DJ sets encapsulate the word eclectic. Don't miss this rare chance to see a true music head dish out an education through one of the best sounding mixers this world has seen.
Support comes from Leeds local and Cosmic Slop founder, Tom Smith.
