Alt-J will be playing at Leeds’ First Direct Arena in December as part of their UK Arena Tour, which comes after the success of their number 1 selling album This Is All Yours, which hit the shelves in September of last year.
Nominated for Best Alternative Music Album at the 57th Grammy Awards, not to mention IMPALA’s Independent Music Album Of The Year, This Is All Yours has been met with a hugely appraisable critical reception, one not much different from that surrounding the debut album An Awesome Wave, which was awarded both The Mercury Prize and an Ivor Novello Award in 2012.
Since the release of the LP, which went to the top spot in the first week of its release, Alt-J have been spreading their music to all corners of the continent during the summer, as they have played high billings at Reading & Leeds, Melt! Festival, Open’er and Latitude amongst many others. Now festival season is over it’s time for the band to go on tour and prepare for their biggest shows to date, as they announce they will be playing at a number of arenas around the UK.
Manchester Central, The Cardiff Motorpoint and Glasgow’s SSE Hydro are just some of the other venues that Alt-J will be filling throughout the end of November and beginning of December, however on December 6th the limelight will be fully fixed upon Leeds as they play at the cities First Direct Arena.
The Leeds First Direct Arena has only been open a few years, however it has already seen many musical legends such as Prince, Fleetwood Mac and The Kaiser Chiefs grace its stage. On December 6th it will be Alt-J who are under the spotlight, who will no doubt give one of their energetic, sing a long performances they have demonstrated whilst becoming one of the most talked about bands of today.
