After a summer of rest and relaxation, Alter will be retuning to Leeds to take up arms for the new academic year, with their opening party set to bring another Berghain resident in Marcel Fengler to the murky depths of Wire.
Alter arrived in just over a year ago, and have since brought the likes of Efdemin, Mathew Jonson, Function and Answer Code Request to Mint Club, making a serious impression amongst the city’s techno heads. To our delight they are back again this year, kicking off with an extended set from the Ostgut Ton staple Marcel Fengler and support from resident Animist.
Marcel Fengler has been a resident at the Berlin techno temple since it opened in 2004 and has perfected his own style of vinyl mixing through his regular slots here ever since the first. Heavily influenced by hardcore raves during the early 80s in other iconic Berlin clubs, he has developed a hard-hitting style tinged with trance-like synths and pulsating bass, while always with one eye on variety in his selections.
The stage is set for a memorable start to the season for Alter, with the rest of their events hopefully seeing a similar to run to the one that turned so many heads last year.
