If you’re one of the many who will not be wining, dining and having a night in this Valentines Day, don’t worry, you’re not alone and there’s a huge amount of things to do up and down the country. From feel good folk rock in Leeds to house and techno extravaganzas in London, this Valentines (Saturday 14th February) is a great opportunity to spend time enjoying the other things that you love.
The Valentines Party - Pure Old Skool
The Forum, London
London’s The Forum is becoming an old school paradise for one night only on February 14th as a rally of classic DJ’s and PA’s will take to the stage for a night of drums, bass and anthems you will all know and love. One the line up are the likes of garage stalwarts The Wideboys, Mat Jam Lamont, Rat Pack and drum & bass desperado Nicky Blackmarket, who will be joined by MC Skibadee. Also joining the assault will be Philgood & Ram as well as Kanga & MC Pedro. For a final treat, there will be live PA’s from Dennis G, Kele La Roc and Richie Dan.
Skream with Dimitri From Paris & more
As the fourth resident of the year, Skream will be taking us through the final quarter of XOYO’s residency series, that for its first year really has proved to be very impressive. From The 2 Bears through Jackmaster and Simian Mobile Disco there have been some quality line-ups, with this season being no different. Things are kicked off with disco deviant Dimitri From Paris, whose edits of countless well loved bands and DJs have shifted them further up people favourites. Completing the line up will be Midnight Magic and Homoelectric as well as, of course, Skream himself.
Supernova Valentines: La Vie En Rose
Back in London at Egg, Supernova is bringing one hell of a line up as they welcome supreme French house label La Vie En Rose. Headlining proceedings will be Lee Curtiss, one quarter of the formidable techno collective Visionquest. Also appearing will be Recloose and Mountain People, who will be playing a 3-hour set. The comes more big guns as label head Terrence:Terry, who will be joined by Hanfry Martinez, Enrico Mantini and Greg Brockmann.

At Fire in London Robert Alfons is flying over from Toronto to perform under his alias Tr/st. Having toured with the likes of Crystal Castles and Austra to name just a few he is a well travelled artist whose exclusive live show will be morphing into a club night. Friends include C.A.R Live and DJ sets from Jonjo Jury and Disco Smack.
The Nest’s Valentines Party

The Nest in London will be inviting disco deviant Greg Wilson to perform to all the lovers in the crowd this Valentines with The Boogie Cartel bringing strong support. Greg Wilson has secured his place in the history books through his revolutionary tape deck skills and the ability to select and pick infectious disco cuts that you won’t hear anywhere else.
The Godfather’s ‘Saint Valentines Day Massacre’
The Borderline, London
There will be more of a ruckus happening down at London’s The Borderline where the legendary British rock n roll group The Godfathers will be performing one of their raw, guitar driven Saint Valentines Day Massacre concerts. Not only that, there will also be support from The Peckham Cowboys as well as a DJ set from DJ Bonanza & Son.
O2 Academy Leeds
Indie fold rock group The Decemberists from Portland, Oregon are undertaking their UK tour this February, with Valentines Day being the day their feel good sounds will drift into Leeds for their gig at The O2 Academy. The five-piece, consisting of Colin, Chris, Jenny, Nate and John have released 6 studio albums, with their new album ‘What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World’ set to be released on January the 20th. The album contains an adventurous range of instruments with everything from accordions to Wurlitzers featuring in their array of pop ballads and modern rock.
Canal Mills presents Blasé Boys Club with Duke Dumont

Prism have invited a rally of great guests to their parties over the past few months, some of which have included Secondcity, Miguel Campbell and Patrick Topping to name a few. Now they’re back on Valentines Day for what promises to be another sold out affair of beats and bass as they bring Sonny Fodera and Cristoph to Leeds hottest clubbing location, Mint Club. Sonny’s releases on labels like Defected and Cajual, alongside Cristoph’s deep but clean cuts on Noir and Underground Audio will no doubt get the floor live and kicking.

For an extra special love affair, bass music maestros Rinse will be bringing one of the countries hottest names to Wire to play an all night long set that will be an adventure for the body and mind. Daniel Avery has a string of heavily played tracks that include Drone Logic and Naïve Response, both of which appear on his album, also called Drone Logic, which received Widespread acclaim and support.

In Edinburgh, Nightvision will be bringing you the 8th Birthday celebration of one of the cities pioneering dance music events, MUSIKA, with a double headliner that will surely be bringing the heads in on the 14th. The first guest will definitely wet your appetite whilst he is sating his, as MUSIKA welcomes Eats Everything, the hungry house hedonist who has revelled well in being one of the most popular electronic DJs of the past few years. Also joining him will be Green Velvet who, aside from through his Cajmere alias has put out some of the most awesome sounds of the past 20 years, including the classic La La Land and the recent smasher Bigger Than Prince.
