Whilst details of the full lineups are still to come, the Detonate Halloween parties are already looking pretty explosive, with new additions just announced following last week’s confirmation of Kano as headline act. Having decided to host the night in two cities simultaneously, the Detonate squad have booked Kurupt FM as number two on the bill in Sheffield and announced Andy C for Nottingham, meaning the bass music specialists can expect a busy night on both fronts. Pre-registration for both events is now open, allowing you to sign up for further lineup announcements and exclusive presale tickets.

Sheffield’s latest entry is a fictional collective that have whipped up a storm from their West London base, becoming one of the UK’s top parody pirate radio stations. Stars of the BBC mockumentary series People Just Do Nothing, the Kurupt FM crew have managed to convert their on-script success into real life demand, with the TV show’s popularity leading to a huge cult following, earning them spots at big summer festivals like Bestival, Creamfields, Outlook, Kendal Calling and more in 2016. Said to operate Brentford’s only garage and DnB focussed pirate radio station, Kurupt FM has become a big draw for bass music fans, with their UK selections more prime than parody. They’ll be stepping up to keep things entertaining in Nottingham.
Andy C, however, is cut from very different cloth, having climbed his way to the top through off-screen performances alone. A legend of drum and bass, he’s been mixing for almost 30 years, releasing some huge tracks along the way and taking the helm for some of the biggest parties going. He’ll be joining Kano for the Nottingham leg of the Halloween special, a guest of Detonate once again having headlined Detonate Festival back in 2015. A favourite with the UK drum and bass crowd, he’ll definitely be a great match for grime king and Mercury Prize nominee Kano, who will be rushing from one set to the next in order to headline both parties in the same night.
