Saturday 8th October will see drum and bass legend Andy C take over Birmingham’s The Rainbow Warehouse, with a selection of friends brought along to share music duties. Featuring a three-hour set from the king of the ‘double drop’, the night will offer Brummie bass heads a chance to dance to one of the genre’s very best.
The RAM Records head honcho has been active in the scene for nigh on thirty years, during which time he has has dedicated himself to uncovering the most exhilarating drum and bass around, bridging the gap between DnB and jungle with his robust selections. Stylistically fond of switching between high-speed percussive sections and momentary eye-of-the-storm relief, Andy C is a master at maintaining energy levels, always knowing exactly when to offer respite in order to keep the audience from tiring. Always willing to dive back in with his heavier weapons, he always knows when to hit the big red button and send a dancefloor into chaotic scenes.
The Rainbow Warehouse ought to make an appropriate setting for the night, with the huge enclosure offering ample space for the DnB masses to assemble. With more special guests playing outside of Andy C’s three hour slot still to be announced, Birmingham’s DnB army will be waiting in anticipation for this one to begin.
