DJ Mag hosted its annual Best of British awards last night at Heaven in London, bringing together some of the biggest names in electronic music under one roof all topped off with a number of live performances. The bash featured a special DJ set from Leftfield as well as appearances from Viva Warriors man Steve Lawler and Fabio & Grooverider.
Big winners on the night included Annie Mac who took home the prize for best radio show along with one of the biggest names in the UK house scene Eats Everything being crowned with the coveted best DJ award. Irish due Bicep were provided with the accolade of best tune for Just, a track which has been fuelling dance floors for the best part of the year.
King of Ibiza and soon to be no longer Space resident Carl Cox took home the award for DJ Mag best live stream once again he is easily proving he is one of the top DJs to witness in person. The Award for best club event went to Liverpool night Circus. DJ and label boss Yousef has seen his night experience a massive year which saw the brand celebrate its 13th Birthday, welcoming the likes of Seth Troxler and Jackmaster to Liverpool. Taking home the prize for best boutique festival was The Social, who return this February to Kent County Show Ground for The Winter Social. The festival will see the likes of Nina Kraviz, Ame, Adam Beyer and Joris Voorn play over the course of the day festival with a special appearance from fellow award winner Yousef who will play b2b with Eats Everything.
Other notable winners on the night included Jasper James taking home the award for best breakthrough DJ as well as the best label award going to Defected Records.
