In the city of Liverpool, there are few multi purpose venues that have the flexibility of Arts Club. Formerly East Village Arts Club, the newly branded venue is getting ready to reopen under its new name this weekend on Saturday the 6th of September. As East Village Arts Club, the building has been host to a number of both reputable and up and coming bands and solo artists, with live events being regular occurrences throughout the week. Late night revelry is also far from unheard of as EVAC has also been the home to two of Liverpool’s most notorious clubbing brands, Circus and Chibuku for some time. Don’t stress however, once newly launched as Arts Club, these great attributes will be staying put and evolving into pastures new with the venue itself.
Aside from the plethora of exciting events that are already lined up to proceed the reopening this weekend, we will also be welcomed into the newly refurbished Arts Club Bar & Kitchen that will be hosting a special event on the first date of opening. Boasting a redesigned bar, professional mixologists and an extensive selection of craft beers, cocktails and world wines, the Arts Club Bar is be twinned with the kitchen that will be serving up fresh local food from the newly curated menu, inspired by traditional American BBQ. This Saturday (6th September) is a great chance to get a peep at exactly what is on offer.
In the restaurant there will be daily special offers like Hungry Mondays, which offers 50% off on all food! Takeover Tuesday is dedicated to local arts talent, whilst Wednesday welcomes Cocktail Club, followed by open mic night Sweet Thursdays and Fridays Beat Feast.
Into the weekend and the Arts Club Kitchen offers up Wiff Waff Warfare, a Ping-Pong tournament where you can battle it out with for a cash prize, and finally Sunday is Stylus, which transforms part of the floor into a pop up vinyl shop, then finishing with Chris Carney’s legendary music quiz. All these events can be enjoyed before, after or with the delicious food that will be served from midday until late and from 10am onwards during weekends for Arts Club brunches.
Looking back to the club, there are a heap of events due to take place over the coming months, from fresh indie performances to underground dance bills featuring the worlds best DJs. Highlights picked from the coming weeks include Chibuku’s reopening with Bicep, Skream, Ben Pearce and Artwork as well as Circus’ 12th Birthday with Yousef, Cassy, wAFF and MK amongst many others. Live music is taken care of by Jaws, Louis Berry, DJ Yoda, Wheatus and Janet Devlin together with so many more.
