On the 6th of September, super promotion Red Sky London is returning to the capital to host a special event at the iconic O2 Academy in Brixton. Having put on many events in the past that have seen the likes of Tube & Berger, Claptone and Bakermat play in venues complete with awesome production that include huge LED screens, forward-facing visuals and pyrotechnics, Red Sky have cemented themselves among the elite events companies in London. This time round, the party will be taking place at The O2 Academy in Brixton, one of the most famous music venues in London that has seen the likes of UB40, Eric Clapton, The Police, Wham and The Clash play in its confines, which has been voted Venue Of The Year twelve times by NME.
Headlining the affair once again is Bakermat, a live music performer who is as good a keyboard player as he is a DJ. Bakermat’s debut album is set to be released very soon, awash with his melodic fusion of techno and house that is laden with jazz notes and soul inspired rhythm. This performance at Red Sky marks his first ever live band performance that will incorporate a saxophonist, bass player, key player, percussionist and a vocalist, no doubt resulting in a very special exclusive show that cannot be missed.
Joining Bakermat will be Goldfish, the South Africans named Dave and Dom who are also a live spectacle to ravish your musical appetite. After studying music at university, the pair joined and have since played all over the world from Ultra Music Festival in Miami to Pacha in Ibiza. Their album ‘3 Second Memory’ is an awesome collection of progressive build ups that are performed perfectly live, deviating from your usual performances that would utilize loops by again using a vast collection of instruments.
AKA AKA Feat. Thalstroem are next on the bill, another live performance group who are signed to Stil Vor Talent, producing minimal house grooves that are layered onto with a live trumpet played by Thalstroem. The album that the group have produced together, named ‘Varieté’, has established their trademark sound and given them a reputation as another exciting live spectacle. Finally is Kant, the Danish producer who melodic sounds are melted with a techy blossom have given him an ‘edge’ (the translation of his Danish name) over other producers of the same ilk.
Together, this line up compromises many hugely exciting artists whose live music and DJ performance will be resulting in an extremely memorable night.
