Canal Mills in Leeds is renowned for its all encompassing club nights, brewers markets and street food festivals, however live music is something that has not been given much of a stint at the venue that has been open since 2012.
Beacons Metro will be bringing a night of live music to Canal Mills on Saturday 17th October, as part of the festival brands series of events strewn wide across the city this year. Beacons Metro will showcase a hefty mixture of both live music and club nights in venues like Canal Mills and the newly opened city centre bar, restaurant and music venue all rolled into one, Headrow House.
For the gig at Canal Mills, Beacons Metro has invited indie rock stalwarts Everything Everything to headline the show. Starting as a band on the BBC Introducing stage at many festivals around the UK, Everything Everything elevated themselves to one of the highest regarded acts in the country over the space of just a few years to being one of the hottest indie bands of today. Lead singer Jonathan Higgs’ unique voice is the basis of the majority of Everything Everything’s songs, which are strewn with electronic influences from guitars and synths laying down bass and keys that build infectious tunes that are hugely danceable.
Everything Everything’s debut album Man Alive climbed to number 17 in the UK, however it was the 2013 follow up Arc that shot to number 5. The most recent LP Get To Heaven hit the shelves during June of this year, with the singles Distant Past and Regret spearheading the albums climb to number 7, just shy of their highest chart position yet. With an effervescent presence on stage and tunes that you won’t be able to stand still to, Everything Everything is a strong choice for this Beacons Festival Presents one off at Canal Mills on October 17th.
Joining the band will be a number of special guests who are yet to be announced.
