Below celebrate their 8th birthday with the biggest party weekend to hit Birmingham in history

"I remember being wet behind the ears when throwing an illegal warehouse rave. It was one of the first Below Warehouse parties at Big Danny's place in Jewellery Quarter. Non the wiser, the best solution we had for selling tickets to the customers was… eBay 'buy it now'!”

Taken from the mouth of half of the team behind Below, Birmingham, it’s pretty clear how far the party has come over the past eight years.  Below started off throwing Sunday day time parties before branching out, introducing the clubbers of Birmingham to venue including; drained pools, strip clubs, cellars, basements, terraces, garden parties, under railway arches and loads more.

The weekend of the 4-5th May sees Below take to three of the venues at the infamous Rainbow Venues, utilising some of the most unique and interesting spaces on offer at the complex.

The celebrations will kick off on Saturday 4th May in ‘The Arena’, the space which hosted the hugely successful Circoloco In The Arena, with a stellar lineup of legends from the worlds of house and techno.  Detroit group, Inner City headline the bill with a rare live performance, with DJ sets from DJ Sneak, Derrick May, Todd Terry, Kevin Saunderson, Mr C and below resident and founder; Adam Shelton.

The second party of the weekend will roll on immediately after the opener, taking over The Rainbow Warehouse from Midnight till 6am, with a Below Residents Special.  Tristan da Cunha and Frenchy make the trip down from Leeds, coupled with a much anticipated Alex Arnout b2b Adam Shelton set.

Closing the weekend on Sunday 5th May is another 12 hours of music, this time in the Rainbow Courtyard and Cellar Door.  Providing the soundtrack will be H Foundation, Paranoid London (Live), Jef K, Julietta, Bloody Mary, Adam Shelton, Le Loup, Tom Craven and Yamen & EDA.
