Those January blues are in full force and the festive season is nothing more than a distant memory. Its time to forget that sceptical new years resolution, flush out all that negativity and make your return to the dance floor with a bang.
Returning to their spiritual home, Bugged Out kick start 2014 with a huge party hosted by Purp & Soul, with Ben Pearce, Real Connoisseur, Mark Wells and Resketch al featuring (at Gorilla club, Manchester).
It was a mere 2 years ago since Ben Pearce came crashing onto the scene with his floor filler What I Might Do eloquently complimented with delightful remixes from the likes of Le Youth, Josh Butler and Prunk. This individual has proved he has much more to offer in the underground House scene with an increasingly busy DJ schedule providing support for House kings such as Carl Cox at Space, Ibiza in the summer of 2013 - as well as churning out the releases resulting in his recent Breakthrough Producer award in DJ Mag's Best Of British 2013.
20 year old Real Connoisseur formerly known as Connor Lloyd should not be underestimated at such a youthful age of 20. His work is clearly influenced by his Garage DJ father with bass lines replicating that sweet garage sound. He brings his very own style to the party with crisp synths running smoothly alongside a soothing melodic vibe cementing clubbers to the dance floor till the early hours.
Next up we see another youngster, Mark Wells hit the decks. Renowned for his ‘I Want You EP’ released on Purp & Soul which saw a Miguel Puente remix being the catalyst for securing support from the likes of Noir, Andre Crom and No Artificial Colours. Check out his podcast below, prepared especially ahead of Bugged Out's Purp & Soul Manchester showcase.
If all that wasn’t enough, the icing on the cake goes by the name of Resketch. Here to mix the party up with a sweet cocktail of House, Bass and Techno. 2 EP’s released on Marcin Czubala’s Label Your Mama’s Friend and more recently Yearner has laid himself a solid foundation for a bright future.
