After one year of quarterly event programmes, XOYO’s residency series is continuing to be one of the most innovative and exciting clubbing series in the UK. The 2 Bears, Simian Mobile Disco, Jackmaster and most recently Skream have all took turns to spearhead 12 weeks of parties at one of the capitals most popular night clubs, bringing vastly different artists and sounds to XOYO’s 2 rooms every Saturday night.
The next in line to take the reins is BBC Radio 1’s Benji B, whose Wednesday night/Thursday morning radio is dedicated to showcasing an eclectic array of future music, be it hip-hop, house, soul and beyond. Aside from his weekly radio show, Benji is also the face behind the club night Deviation, which already houses itself at XOYO every first Friday of the month. Upon moving to Saturday nights, with the first set to take place on Saturday the 4th of April, Benji B will be inviting a platter of guests to play both upstairs and down, with Benji returning to headline every weekend.
The series will open with an appearance from Skepta and an unannounced special guest, with Virgil Abloh and a further special guest to take the reins upstairs. Over the course of the following 11 weeks XOYO and Deviation will welcome the likes of Pepe Bradock, Four Tet, Floating Points, Gilles Peterson, Wiley, Zomby, DJ Zinc, Leon Vynehall, Moodymann, Kenny Dope and Hudson Mohawke to the downstairs room alone. Upstairs will also be rocking each week, with special all night long performances from Artwork and Jon K, not to mention further DJ sets from Girls Girls Girls, Sassy and Ossie, as well as a very special 3 hour speed era set from Fabio.
