After hosting their own arena at the first ever Mint Festival, Blacklight are set to enter into the first in series of parties to be held at Leeds’ infamous Mint Club – the scene for many of the city’s most memorable nights over the years and the perfect setting for Blacklight’s residency.
Blacklight’s offerings for their launch party come in the form of two of techno’s most sort after and established DJs, The Baron Of Techno Dave Clarke and the forever moniker swapping Luke Slater – with support from Mark Turner [Orbit, Eastern Bloc], Ed Mackie [Colour, Artform] and more.
Dave Clarke’s importance within Techno is undeniable, not least through his groundbreaking set of ‘Red’ EPs and his numerous full length album releases. Even his mix CDs have found their way into the history books, one of which secured a spot in Resident Advisors top ten mix compilations of the 00’s. Under a long list of monikers including Clementine, 7th Plain, Planetary Assault Systems and Deputy Dawg, Luke Slater has released an incredible string of productions from the early 90s onwards seeing his receive great acclaim from punters and the industry a like (being invited onto the prestigious Fabric DJ mix series in the process).
This is a true techno lineup that Leeds hasn’t seen the likes of for some time. Advance tickets are flying out and are strongly advised. To avoid disappointment, grab yours now – BUY TICKETS.
