We are edging closer and closer to find out who will be crowned BBC Music’s sound of 2016. Counting down the top 5 from the top 5 from Yesterday, each position will be revealed this week with the winner being announced Friday the 8th of January. With previous winners including Adele and Sam Smith the Sound Of Poll has a proven track record of unearthing talented artists who are desting for greatness.
Yesterday saw both electronic producer Mura Masa and and London based RnB/Hip-Hop collective Wstrn tied for 5th place. It was announced today that 5 piece Stockport band Blossoms were awarded with 4th place in the poll. Citing the likes of Oasis as inspiration due to their similar background of Northern working-class roots, Blossoms are tipped for big things in 2016 following their achievement of reaching number 4 in the poll. With an infectious dream pop vibe, Blossoms will be one of the top bands to look out for this year.
You can catch Blossoms doing their thing at the O2 Academy Liverpool Friday 25th March
