On New Years Day, Simon Green, who is more commonly as the Brighton based electronic artist Bonobo, announced that he would be releasing a new album in 2016.
Having had a quiet 2015 on the studio side of things, Bonobo will be firing back into action this year with an album that as of yet doesn’t have any details, however if it follows any kind of suit from his previous LPs and or even the EPs he did release during last year, Ten Tigers and The Flashlight, it will be something very special.
Aside from work on new recordings, Bonobo has launched his new Outlier radio show in December, which shares the name with the parties that he will be putting on all over the country over the coming months. In an interview Bonobo expressed the want to start a new label and throw two-day parties, which could be what comes out of this Outlier imprint that was started at the end of last year.
The first Outlier party will see a collaboration with LWE at Tobacco Dock in London, which will no doubt kick off the series with one hell of a bang. This daytime party at LWE’s favourite party spot will see a number of rooms opening to host a DJ set by Bonobo, not to mention a host of artists affiliated with him.
There will be a live performance from the Erased Tapes duo Kiasmos, who will showcase their live audio-visual show after their sold out show at The Electric Brixton a few months ago. On the DJ tip there will be almost 15 artists from across the house and techno spectrum, including Maya Jane Coles and a separate performance from her as her alias Nocturnal Sunshine, Trevino, George FitzGerald and Gilles Peterson.
Also appearing will be Glaswegian R&S staple Alex Smoke, Paul Woolford as Special Request, Glenn Astro, Hodge, Lapalux, Lone, Romare and Throwing Snow.
Fourth Release Tickets on sale now with a VIP option also available.
