Edinburgh’s FLY Open Air Festival has added live house extraordinaires Booka Shade to the lineup, with the German duo set to cart their considerable bank of machines to Edinburgh on the 24th of September. They are the latest act announced for a party already boasting the likes of Motor City Drum Ensemble, Mr G, Detroit Swindle and Harri + Domenic.
The festival takes place in a world heritage site right underneath Edinburgh’s beautiful castle, a prime city centre location which represents a major coup for chief party-starters FLY, a group that have risen from a weekly residency at the city’s Cabaret Voltaire to take charge of global name clubs like La Terrazza in Barcelona and Sub Club in Glasgow. The Ross Bandstand event will take place just a few minutes from Waverley Station, and will surely be one of the most picturesque of any of the UK’s metropolitan festivals.
Running from midday until 10 at night will be some of the finest techno and house to grace Edinburgh this year, as guaranteed by the iconic Sub Club residents Harri + Domenic, Raw Cuts maestro Motor City Drum Ensemble and a live set from the king of dubbed out house, Mr G. Booka Shade’s detailed productions should fit in perfectly, with Theo Kottis and Nolan & Herd also on hand to play their part.
With only the first phase announced thus far, this one is looking huge. Tickets are on sale now.
