On Friday March the 6th, the coveted Leeds sound system and club night Brotherhood Sound System will be celebrating its 3rd birthday at The Beaverworks, inviting over a special guest host to lead the charge in one of the three rooms that will bouncing with music all night long. Having started in a Manchester basement in 2010, Brotherhood residents Silas & Snare Surgeon, along with their avid sound engineer Titan, have now become renowned all over the North as they have spread their wings and taken their musical weight to parties like SubDub, Vagabondz, Jungle Jam, Mint Festival, Bigger Than Barry and Horizons Festival to name just a few, not to mention international festivals such as Outlook and Dimensions.
On the night of the party that sees them enter their fourth year, the main warehouse space will be hosted by Horizons Festival and will welcome an artists whose new album ‘Reality Testing’ on R&S Records has been said to be “inhumanly perfect” and “one of the years best, most luxuriant and accomplishes electronic albums”. We are of course talking about Lone. Joining him will be Stephen Howe and Alexander Nut who will be performing a 3-hour vinyl only set. The Warehouse will also play host to 3D Visual Mapping by Think Tank, an extra special lighting technique that was recently showcased in the same venue at Back To Basics 23rd Birthday.
The Basement will welcome the revered bass music label Swamp 81, which is an old favourite of Brotherhood Soundsystem. Playing here will be DMZ’s Loefah as well as Paleman, Chunky and Micky Pearce who will be returning after his storming performance a few months ago. Residents Silas & Snare will also complete this room of forward thinking music. Finally in the back room the birthday bash will continue with Dan Hills, Titan, Remé and Hijinkx.
