Manchester Swaggaman Bugzy Malone might have put the city on the grime map during the genre’s recent resurgence, but occasionally he likes to get out of town and see the world, so on Friday 4th November he’ll be heading down to Birmingham for a show at O2 Institute2.
Receiving snowballing interest as his YouTube accounts were ransacked by onlookers, Bugzy passed 50 million views and didn’t look back, using his freestyles to show off lyrical cunning and come-out-fighting attitude with a number of raw videos. Even considering the huge wave of young MCs gaining attention in London, Malone stands out as one of the most aggy and powerful grime MCs in the UK, with his forceful delivery and biting tongue showing little fear at taking on the big-leaguers. The pride of Manchester by his own declaration, Bugzy’s impressive delivery and close to the bone themes have made him one of the best prospects around, as he announced himself when throwing down the gauntlet to Chipmunk with the viral diss track “Relegation Riddim”.
Check my Fire in the Booth, it's moving // Chipmunks Fire in the Booth was boring // I set fire to the building // Chip made everybody in the building start snoring.
The fire will burn in Birmingham this November.
