Friday the 13th, although unlucky for some (those who don't live in Leeds that is), sees UK DJ and prolific writer Bill Brewster play Wire Leeds courtesy of Butter Side Up.
With his roots firmly in England, Grimsby to be exact, it was actually New York that saw Bill first really take grasp of the art of DJing, running and plating at a string of warehouse parties whilst also finding time to take on a job for the world renowned DMC. Whilst out in Amercia, Bill also spent two years running Mixmag's New York bureau before some time as editor of Mixmag USA. A true music head, Bill Brewster has had every job the music business can offer (DJ, writer, resident, label owner, editor, the list goes on...) and his unchallenged knowledge of the scene is what makes him the impeccable DJ he is.
Whether he's taking on the main room of Fabric (where he once held a famed residency) or dropping funk, soul, hip-hop and latin beats in a dusty back room, Bill is equally at home – carrying on the tradition of a line of bookings for Butter Side Up that has seen the likes of Floating Point and Theo Parrish grace the decks over the past year.
As always, Butter Side Up's December party is a Christmas affair so be sure to grab a ticket and start searching for that terrible Christmas jumper at the back of your wardrobe.
