Butter Side Up bring Perlon favourite Margaret Dygas to Leeds

Butter Side Up will be celebrating their 5th birthday next week, with tickets having already sold out for the all night long performance from one of the brands favourite guests over the past half decade, Hunee. In lieu of leaving disappointed faces on those not quick enough to get tickets, Butter Side Up have announced next months guest to the delight of all Leeds’ most devoted music heads, as they unveil Margaret Dygas will be descending on their long time home of Wire on Friday 13th November.

Butter Side Up

Born in Poland and currently living in the underground dance music utopia of Berlin, Dygas began writing and producing music in 2007, with her fabrications having been signed to some of the most inimitable record labels in the business, foremostly the ever evolving superlative German imprint Perlon. Owned by 2 of the most respected names in the techno industry, Perlon has snapped up two of Margaret’s EPs, one LP and a single for the fifth instalment of the Superlongevity series, with her most recent EP for the label giving us 2 deep and driving tracks that have worked those more discerning dance floors all year long.

Aside from her celebrated creativity when it comes to experimental house and techno, Dygas is one of the very few bi-monthly residents at Panorama Bar, where she will spin at both Klubnacht and Get Perlonized, which says enough about her skills as a DJ. Regularly spinning alongside the likes of Zip, Efdemin, Ricardo Villalobos, Thomas Melchior and Baby Ford, the calibre of Margaret Dygas is unquestionable, having reached this stage for being a supreme selector in her own right.

This exciting 4-hour performance from Margaret Dygas at Butter Side Up will see moody house and techno slip and slide through leftfield picks of groove-laden experimentalism, which may see you questioning what you are hearing. The music will speak for itself, but it’s going to be bloody good. Add a selection of BSU’s esteemed residents into the mix and you have something difficult to say no to.
