After a more than fruitful 2014 that saw Butter Side Up welcoming the likes of Craig Richards, Jus-Ed, Sven Weisemann, Motor City Drum Ensemble and Tama Sumo to their comfortably cavernous home that is Wire, they are ready and raring to get back into it as their first event of the year is just about upon us. For the inaugural event of the year the limelight has been passed to Chicago house stalwart Andres Ordonez, who is more commonly known as Specter.
Having been at the forefront of Chi-Town’s house music culture for almost 30 years, Specter has gained a substantial amount of music from all corners of the globe, and that’s putting it lightly. As an artist who oozes stylish, infectious and soulful grooves he fits Butter Side Ups roster of guests perfectly, in that he will concoct an insatiable mood and uplift the dance floor to new heights.
Also on the bill is Andrew James Gustav. As ‘a hoarder of some of the most refined electronic records’ Butter Side Up have heard (a bold statement), Andrew has the ability to draw an uncountable number of records out from his vast collection that will each in turn provoke bewildering clubbing moments. These being those moments when you are left open mouthed thinking “what the hell is this!?”.
Together, these guests offer another great example of how Butter Side Up are keen purveyors of top quality electronic music, without forgetting to use their knowledge of worldwide underground sounds to the maximum. To zip it all up into one neat little package, residents Hamish Cole, Hugh Bailey, Johnny Sleight and Ciaran Hansen will be on warm up duties.
