After last month’s success with Fred P and Bobby O’Donnell, Maurice Fulton will be descending upon Wire this week as Butter Side Up’s Easter Party special guest.
Whether you know it or not, Maurice Fulton’s music is staple in the sets of many DJs across the board, also lining the Butter Side Up residents DJ bags for “what seems like a lifetime”. Involved in the making of the seminal Crystal Waters track Gypsy Woman, as well as having a number of other aliases including Syclops, under which he has fabricated suitably slick numbers such as Where’s Jason K and Jump Bugs, Fulton’s marks are made all over the music scene as his music compromises a leftfield approach to the traditional styles of house and techno.
Stretching through other aliases including Stress, Boof, Hot Sauce and Dr. Scratch, Maurice Fulton’s music has been released on some of the biggest labels going, with DFA, Running Back and 2020 Vision being the cream of the crop. Maurice also runs his own imprint Bubbletease Communications, which has fronted EPs and albums from the likes of DJ Nori, Mitsumi and Mellonsniffers.
As a DJ, Fulton relished having an extensive vinyl back catalogue and innate skills when it comes to blending tracks together seamlessly. This is a great opportunity to catch this talented individual in such an intimate space.
