As the new year commences, Canal Mills have announced a line up that will ensure any dry January candidates will have something to look forward to in the second month of 2015. On Friday the 6th of February the club will welcome 3 heavyweights of new school house to the venue.
Headlining the bill is southern star Skream who, since making a bold genre transition, has become a renowned favourite when it comes to house, garage and bassy sounds. This association is to be stretched however, as Skream has recently become XOYO’s newest resident in their quarterly series, which sees the Londoner billed with heavyweight underground icons such as Derrick Carter, Robert Hood and Tania Vulcano.
Next up is young chart stormer Route94. Having appeared in the city a number of times he has gained countless fans and not just in the city. His music has been drawing unfathomable attention from channels both commercial and underground, now resulting in worldwide tours and further singles tipped for big things. Richy Ahmed will also be dropping in for a performance, an artist who has had strong affiliation with Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations since the inception of the label some years ago and his appointment as head A&R. His tracks The Drums and Sneaky Acid were in the record bags of countless DJs at the back end of 2014 and we’re looking forward to hearing some new sounds to throw us into spring. Local lads done good PBR Streetgang will also be rounding off the main room with Grainger.
In room 2, Luke Pompey will be showcasing his label Love Not Money, which has gone down a storm since it started releasing music last year. Joining Luke will be a whirlwind of artists from the label’s roster including Farrow, Jerome Prince, Jhōnsson and Kamero.
Tickets are already on third release. Buy now to avoid missing out.
