To celebrate the Easter weekend, mono_cult and Canal Mills have teamed together once again to bring a night filled with heavyweight house and techno aficionados, together playing for a wholesome 10 hours at Canal Mills in Leeds.
These bank holiday parties have long been the talk of the town and have in the past featured the likes of Ben Klock, Disclosure, Breach, Bicep, Mano Le Tough, Dixon, Prosumer and Scuba amongst many other of the hottest acts on the planet.
This time around, mono_cult and Canal Mills are enlisting the help of the Berlin based duo, Tale of Us to headline proceedings. Tale of Us have been seen all over the globe having played at many of the world’s most iconic clubs including Watergate, DC-10 and Privilege to name a few. Their productions pull a combination of disco, house, techno and pop together to fuse an interesting and imposing spectacle that we cannot wait to hear. Their remix of Mano Le Tough’s ‘Primitive People’ proved to be one of the biggest tracks of last year, so the prospect of them playing on Easter Sunday is an exciting one indeed.
Joining Tale of Us will be mono_cult favourites Joy Orbison and Move D. Joy Orbison provided the brand with two memorable sets last year that convinced them the Brit will perform just as well if not better once again. Joy Orbison is a truly eclectic DJ who brings together elements of garage, house and techno to create dubby instrumentals, some of which including his own ‘Ellipsis’ and ‘Mercy’ have again been huge tracks on the underground scene. Move D, another favourite who has played for mono_cult a handful of times is renowned for his laid back, jazzy yet body moving style of music which has manifested from classical and heavier German influences.
Also appearing on the line up is Axel Boman, a Swede who has had a host of releases on many coveted labels like DJ Koze’s Pampa Records, Hypercolour, Permanent Vacation, Tartelet and Studio Barnhus. With a collaboration on the way with John Talabot, there’s no doubting Axel’s talent, and as it is his Canal Mills debut, there's an extra sepcial element to hsi appearance on Easter Sunday Completing the Easter Sunday line up is PBR Streetgang, a local duo from Leeds who are more than capable of stirring up bank holiday party vibes which, with the mono_cult residents will keep you dancing until the wee hours of the morning.
