Clearly the guys and girls at Canal Mills fancy a bit of a change, so they’ve decided to put on a show at Wire in October, with the fantastic Heidi invited over for a three hour set. Taking place on Saturday the 15th, the show will see the Jackathon Queen make her debut in the Call Lane club, having previously been a guest of Canal Mills at their normal location back in March.
A skilled dancefloor destroyer with a lot of bang for buck, Heidi specialises in thumpy techno and jacking house, and should go down a treat with the Wire regulars. Definitely up there with the DJs best suited to making techno fun, Heidi may not shy away from heads down shakers but errs towards the euphoria of more groovy tracks, and has a wealth of knowledge accrued through years of touring and time spent working at Soho record shop Phonica and the now defunct Koobla records. Obsessed with booming bass lines and earworm hooks, the charismatic Canadian developed her passion traveling to parties in Detroit and Chicago, moving behind the decks after a move to London and encouragement from house production duo M.A.N.D.Y.
Throwing together Heidi’s record collection and two of Leeds’ biggest party institutions looks like a surefire way to get things buzzing, so things are looking good for October.
