Carl Craig releases new album – Masterpiece

The latest edition of the Ministry of Sound Masterpiece series, released July 2013, comes from none other than Detroit techno pioneer and forever relevant 'electronica' artist, Carl Craig. Having touched on just about everything he possibly could have during his illustrious career, be it as a record label owner, DJ, producer, festival creator (Detroit Electronic Music Festival) and more, Carl will always be recognised as one of the truly important figures in electronic music.


Split over 3 CDs, Carl Craig's Masterpiece takes in the full spectrum of his musical life (CD1 Aspiration, CD2 Inspiration, CD3 Meditation) touching on what Carl is currently DJing, the music which has inspired him over the years and a final CD featuring a suite of six brand new compositions for modular synthesiser.

Last week Carl was invited to record a special 2 hour set for the prestigious BBC Radio 6 Music Mix show. If you didn't hear it the first time round be sure to check out the mix below, featuring new music and old favourites to mark the release of the Masterpiece compilation.

Over the coming months, as ever, Carl will be taking in gigs across the globe at some of the biggest clubs and festivals on the circuit, including sets at Circoloco In The Arena (Birmingham, UK), Carl Cox The Revolution (Space, Ibiza) and house music institution Back To Basics (Leeds, UK).
