Liverpudlian party starters Chibuku have lined up a heavy night of bass music for Saturday 3rd December, as Kurupt FM lead a bill that also includes P Money, Big Narstie and a very special secret guest. Taking place at Arts Club on Seel Street, the party will be another in a long line of excellent Chibuku-Arts Club collaborations.
Dubbed ‘Champagne Steam Rooms’, Kurupt FM’s touring project has proven a popular event, previously earning bookings in London at Koko, Leeds’ Canal Mills as well as Manchester’s The Warehouse Project. Adding a Liverpool leg to the tour, the Brentford radio pirates will lead the show with their signature brand of earworm garage hooks, jungle rhythms and quickfire MC jousts.
That’s not to say that the People Just Do Nothing stars are the only big London players booked in for this night on Merseyside, however, as Lewisham grime MC P Money and N-Double-A’s Big Narstie will both add some star quality of their own to the urban music spectacle. Originally making his way into the scene over ten years ago when dubstep was in its prime, P Money has caught attention by way of singles like “Slang Like This”, “Anthemic” and “Round The Clock”, as well as a notable appearance on grime DVD Lord of the Mics, where he clashed with (and - according to popular consensus - defeated) Big H.
Meanwhile, Big Narstie might have become best known as a larger than life internet personality, but in British hip hop circles he’s a serious figure, with a shed load of mixtapes and a couple of EPs to draw from. Surrounded by an as of yet unnamed special guest, as well as Big Heath, Raw DJs, Suede Brown and Rich Furness, it’s clear that Narstie will be in good company as Chibuku returns to Arts Club this December for another huge party in L1.
