Chibuku continue in their rich vain of form in 2016 with another massive scoop following on from Stromzy’s memorable appearance earlier this month. When it comes to leaving a mark on numerous genres of UK dance music, few compare to Chase & Status who will be behind the decks at the Arts Club Saturday 5th March.
Having achieved success with a number of records finding their way into the UK dance chart, Chase & Status firmly solidified their presence on the scene thanks to their 2008 full length LP More Than A lot. The record was predominantly built around a drum & bass sound with tracks such as Eastern Jam crossing over into dubstep, provided the perfect platform for the duo to hit the bigtime due to the rapidly growing popularity of the genre. Their second full length attempt proved to be their most commercially successful with 2010’s no more idols reaching number 2 in the UK charts and featuring guest appearances from the likes of Plan B, Sub Focus, White Lies and Dizzee Rascal. With their 2015 effort, London Bars seeing the pair working with a number of grime artists such as Novelist, expect to hear a vibrant mix of records of rotation throughout Chase & Status’ DJ set.
Arts club will also be the temporary home to Dimension, Ram records’ Culture Shock and MC’s Bonkaz and Yungen on the night of Saturday the 5th of March.
