Chris Malinchak is the DJ and producer from Brooklyn New York who stormed the charts last year with his single ‘So Good To Me’ that peaked at number 2, receiving a ton of playtime in nightclubs as well as on radio and music television. On October the 9th The Oval Space in London will be playing host to Chris Malinchak who will appear alongside a number of special guests.
Since learning to play the piano at the age of three, Chris Malinchak has put his musical skills into many bands and produced music under many monikers. It his by his own name however that he has churned out a string of well received singles that were first released on YouTube and through various online channels. Aside from the hit single that now has over 20 million views online, other singles such as There I Was, If U Got It and his latest release featuring mikky Ekko Stranger have also been championed by many DJs including fellow French Express label mates Isaac Tichauer, Moon Boots and Jonas Rathsman. This label that has released many of Chris’ tracks is fast becoming one of the most esteemed imprints on the tropical house scene.
Looking at Malinchak’s series of performances this year, he seems to be rocketing to stardom in many US states as he has appeared at many festivals and club nights including Movement Detroit, Electric Zoo, Rinsed and Ovum. Now in October, Chris will be travelling to the UK to play two dates that include one for Yousef’s Circus as part of The Warehouse Project’s 2014 season as well as this special appearance at The Oval Space in Bethnal Green, London. With the ability to hold up to 6000 people, this flexible events space has hosted many food, drink and film festivals as well as an impressive running of club nights this year alone. With a dance floor surrounded by windows that creates an innate terrace feel, this will be a great location for Chris to showcase all his tracks both released and new that are quickly making him the favourite of many UK dance music fans.
