For those who like their music eclectic, energetic and sparsely compromising all underground genres, from house through techno and disco, tinged with afro and Latino influences, we urge that you check out Amsterdam’s Young Marco, who has emerged through his home towns vibrant underground dance music scene throughout recent years, boasting several residencies and gaining respect from some of the most integral musical figures the country has. Jumping between jacking Chicago house, Afro injected disco and tropical jams he has fast become one of the Netherland’s most talked about up and coming names.
Having had a long standing friendship with the revered Rush Hour label, as well as now relishing a place on Lovefingers’ ESP Institute, on which his debut album ‘Biology’ was released, he is gaining an extensive discography, which is also being well celebrated as his first LP climbed to the no.6 spot on Vinyl Factory’s 2014 Top 100 Chart. Those who have seen his Boiler Room mix will have seen how he effortlessly chain smokes cigarettes and records through his carefully planned mix executions, leading to his episode being one of the most watched and top voted of last year.
Now being an in demand DJ, producer and remixes all over the globe, Young Marco has recently worked with Balearic heavyweights such as Heatsick and Soft Rock, not to mention the Afro legend Francis Bebey on EPs that have become favourites in the collections of many. His performance at Wire is no doubt going to be a highlight in the hectic Leeds clubbing calendar.
