As one of the most influential figures in the dance music scene, Pete Tong has been in the business for over two decades, and has such grown to become one of the most respected DJs on the planet. Aside from his weekly Friday night residency on BBC Radio 1, as well as hosting the coveted Essential Mix, which has showcased the worlds best DJing talent weekly since 1991, Tongy is a well travelled DJ who has been taking his ‘All Gone Pete Tong’ club night around the world for a number of years.
In 2013, Pete Tong appeared at Control for the first time, just after the club’s opening, bringing with him Booka Shake, Waifs & Strays and Tensnake, and after it went down so well he just had to make another date, which he has done on Friday the 27th of February. This time round he will be bringing with him two DJs and a live act who has been wowing the world with his disco tinged house for a number of years. Check out Pete's Essential New Tunes for 2015 below now.
First on the line up is Disciples, the electronic trio whose new single ‘They Don’t Know’ is already climbing the charts. The vocal, now easily recognisable, has been heard on the radio a thousand times already and I’m betting we’ll hear it all summer. Oliver Dollar provides the next foundation to the line up, a DJ whose releases on Made To Play and Defected have also been crowned some of the most heard in clubland since last year, with his ever present ‘Doin’ Ya Thang’ still getting playtime amongst clubland. Finally, adding a touch of class will be Todd Terje who will be bringing his live show to Control for the first time. Todd has had a platter of singles that have been championed by some of the best in the business; this will no doubt be a look into what he’s got ready for the summer, and a look back at his best work so far.
