Tickets are onsale for bass music fan-fave Detonate Festival, which will take place on Saturday the 4th of June. The Nottingham festival will be held at Colwick Country Park grounds, and this year offers up a Chase & Status (DJ set), Stormzy and Craig David’s TS5 party as headliners. Rhythmic prodigy Paleman will dish up a serving of minimalist bass and percussion, whilst David Rodigan will demonstrate his notorious collection of reggae and dancehall.
Detonate promises something for everyone; DJ Q will teach You Wot with his jelly-wobble basslines, and grime will be well represented with Bristolian grime duo Kahn & Neek, Preditah and Giggs all making the trip to Nottingham. Mala will be on hand to provide a taste of DMZ’s finest dub plates and beyond.
The festival, which is accompanied each year by the Detonate Festival After Party 'Detonation', has been running since 2012, bringing favourites from their nights in Sheffield, Leeds and Nottingham and setting them up alongside new guests from all reaches of the bass music ecosphere. Adding to the already mentioned artists, Flava D will look to set off Detonate as she takes her place behind the decks to deliver vocal hooks and fizzing beats in garage, grime, hip hop with house. Drum and bass star Wilkinson and the Dutch trio Noisia complete the lineup.
