Brazilian scratch master DJ Marky is set to make his first appearance for RAM this coming New Year’s Eve, joining the the drum & bass label as they take over O2 Academy Brixton to see out 2016. The special guest adds to an already considerably huge collection of names with Sub Focus, Nero and High Contrast all booked in to appear.
Tickets for RAM NYE are on sale now.
A performer is the purest form once behind the decks, DJ Marky’s abilities go beyond the restrictions of gravity. Boasting a party piece of scratching records with the turntable flipped upside down, the Brazilian’s style offers a raw taste of the Latin flavours absorbed in his formative years as a turntablist, embodying the energy and soul of samba in his sets through fast paced mixing and selections. Since making a name for himself on UK shores, Marco Antonio Silva has graced the airwaves of BBC Radio 1 and help down residencies at London’s Movement, all the while the pioneering force of a new sound for drum & bass.
New Year’s Eve is a worthy platform for a DJ of such stature.
