From September through to December, London based house duo Dusky will be embarking on a worldwide tour, stopping off in Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Spain and the UK amongst a host of other countries. At each of their gigs Dusky will be playing a 4-hour set, including their stops at East Village Arts Clubs on the 18th October and Canal Mills in Leeds on the 21st November.
Since around about 2011, Dusky have been churning out tracks that have been championed by DJs of many styles, as their varied musical influences result in their sound being one that is ever evolving. Early hits include ‘Flo Jam’ and their remix of Justin Martin’s ‘Don’t Go’ as well as a heap of material on Above & Beyond’s Anjunadeep label, which was also the imprint Dusky released their first studio album on. Notable tracks of a more recent proximity include Mr Man and Careless, the latter of which has been heard in clubs for a long while moving them under the spotlight for many house enthusiasts. With other EPs signed to labels like Aus Music, Dogmatik and Henry 85 and a constant presence in clubs all around the UK they could be said to be one of the most in demand artists of today.
East Village Arts Club is one Liverpool’s premier clubbing venues, being the home for Yousef’s long running house and techno institution Circus as well as seeing many other live music acts play on a regular basis. With many original features and décor from the buildings earlier life it is a sizeable yet intimate venue that is perfect for Dusky to present their musical treats. Joining the duo at will be Lorca, the exciting producer and DJ from Brighton whose releases on Naked Naked and Midnight Visions are amounting to his growing reputation. As well as this there will be a number of other guests joining Dusky and Lorca, who are yet to be announced.
In Leeds’ whirlwind of night clubs and warehouse venues, Canal Mills has set itself among the elite over the few years it has been open. With regular callings from Mono_Cult, Resident Advisor and Metropolis as well as their innovative night markets, the music policy is varied, however the raw feel that extenuates through brickwork and a stone terrace as well as the punchy sound system ensures all music is catered for to a high quality. This edition of ‘The Next Step’ tour at Canal Mills Leeds will also see Dense & Pika, Leon Vynehall and Youandewan joining the line up, with a special guest appearance from Jimmy Edgar.
