The lineup for the London leg of the AMP All Day Rave series has grown even larger, with new additions including Patrick Topping, Josey Rebelle and a live set from Dusky. Taking place at Tobacco Dock on October 1st, the Annie Mac led party already boasted Eats Everything, Basement Jaxx, Kölsch and Slimzee among its leading cast, with Todd Edwards, Slimzee and Paul Woolford also standing out as highlights.
As one of the UK’s most in-demand electronic acts, house duo Dusky have had plenty of encouragement as they churn out big release after big release, with hectic touring schedules in huge venues demonstrating the magnitude of their success. Students of rave culture who bring plenty of depth and the occasional wonky edge to UK house, Dusky have become easily distinguished, pushing them to the top of the British bass scene. A little further back in his journey but no doubt making similar tracks, Patrick Topping has enjoyed a similarly conspicuous rise, and has earned himself a DC10 residency and global prestige along the way.
Josey Rebelle is another en vogue DJ, with her affection for corpulent house and techno shining through in her too-heavy-to-lift selections. Armed with impressive technique to accompany her often rowdy tunes, she’s equally confident racing through drum and bass as she is carving acid-flecked soundscapes, and makes another strong addition to the party. Avelino - a live MC rather than a deejay - will bring lyrical prowess to the playlist as he shows off the gifts that make him a favourite of artists including Stormzy, Labrinth and Tinie Tempah.
All in all, it looks like Annie Mac will be launching October with a big old bang, with business opening at midday and running until ten thirty in the evening. Tickets, as you might expect, will be highly sought after.
