Our eyes have a tendency to brighten whenever we see that Bugged Out have curated another line up for one of their famous parties; they have continued to impress revellers with an array exciting artists for almost 19 years now. Their last event at XOYO hosted Breach, T. Williams and Maribou State which was a roaring success. Their next affair, however, brings in the likes of Dusky, Paul Woolford and Trevino.
Having released their first album, Stick By This on Ajunadeep in late 2011, Alfie and Nick aka Dusky, shot to fame and have been producing solid E.Ps on the likes Breach’s Naked Naked, Dirtybird and most recently, Will Saul’s AUS label with the release of their Careless EP. Defined by pristine production, energetic sets and their inclination to delve into the deeper world of techno, they are certainly not an act to miss out on.
To some degree, Paul Woolford has created his own, unintentional cliché, in that you’re not going to read about him after this summer without the mention of his marvellous Switch sampled Untitled EP on Scuba’s Hotflush. But there’s no denying it, he’s probably hotter property right now than he has ever been and his unique blend of bass driven music with clear Chicago house origins (as well as the odd Jungle set...) is getting him booked for some of the finest parties in the world.
Drum and bass icon Marcus Intalex’s alias, Tevino is next up on the bill. Proving himself in the world of house and techno with his banger Backtracking, he will most definitely put on a great show. Polishing off this fine bill is Neville Watson, his Boiler Room set last year revealed his affinity to acid house, so expect to hear a lot of raw beats warming up the dance floor for a night that will assault your ears.
