Singer songwriter Eric Roberson, or Erro as he has come to be called, hails from Rahway, New Jersey and is the name behind the music label Blue Erro Soul. Erro’s debut single The Moon hit the shelves in 1994 on Warner Records, however since then he has released the majority of his albums on his own imprint which he founded in 1998.
Roberson is widely known for his work with DJ Jazzy Jeff, for whom he wrote songs throughout the first years of the new millennium, however his solo career has gained huge momentum later in the decade as he was nominated for two Grammy awards for Best Urban/Alternative Performance on his 2009 album Music Fan First. A further three nominations came his way in the following 2 years in the same category.
The most recent LP Eric Roberson has released was The Box, which hit the shelves last year, again released on his own label Blue Erro Soul. Critically acclaimed and quoted as “another gleaming jewel in the crown for Erro”, it has added to his long line of albums that have wowed the critics, with the singles Mark On Me and Pill being particular highlight.
Erro will be playing 2 dates at London’s Jazz Café in Camden on Thursday 20th and Friday the 21st August, rounding off what will be two insatiably intimate performances by one of the most widely acclaimed R&B/soul singers of today.
