Hard Times are going back to the beginning for their twentieth birthday celebrations at The Warehouse. The long-running Leeds night is bringing house pioneer Todd Terry back to The Warehouse once again for a night that will undoubtedly be another masterclass in depth. Expect nothing but the smoothest grooves from the Grammy Award nominated DJ and producer, who has been an international star since the emergence of house music itself in the early eighties.
Since the UK welcomed the American onto the scene with open arms, Todd has been almost relentlessly prolific, and his twenty year career has seen him establishing himself as a house music innovator. Having remixed scores of pop and disco greats as well as producing his own hits, it would be fair to say that Todd is one of the living legends of dance music. Not content with being responsible for historic house tracks and creating a new transatlantic sound back in the day, the ground-breaking New Yorker is still producing instant classics.
From Ministry of Sound releasing the compilation A Night in The Life (actually recorded live at Hard Times - listen above) in the early nineties to 2007’s Todd Terry All Stars, Terry is a name associated with only the most killer tracks - to say that the producer has the Midas touch would be an understatement, and you can expect the same kind of gold from his DJ sets too. A Funktion One system, a legendary DJ, a club that has seen musical history being made, and a party that doesn’t stop. If you’re in town and you miss this one give yourself more than a smack on the wrist.
