Bugged Out! with Breach, Maribou State, T. Williams, DRM RLL PLS.
Saturday 7th September
XOYO is one of the hottest clubs in Shoreditch, and Bugged Out!, one of the UK's longest running club nights reaching 20 years in 2014 held the perfect end to the summer welcoming in the long dark nights with the help of Breach, Maribou State, T. Williams and DRM RLL PLS.
DRM RLL PLS owned room 2 and was a perfect start to the evening, creating a solid mix of house jams throughout the night. DRM RLL PLS is a club night and a collection of DJ's headed up by London based DJ and producer Melechtric, celebrating its 3rd birthday only this year. During the first hour of arriving I chose to remain in room 2, Joy Orbison's Big Room Tech House DJ Tool instantly had people moving and lowered the tone to the sounds we all love to hear.
Maribou State had been working the basement since 10pm and was in full swing when we joined the crowd. The pair had created a warm ambient atmosphere with their uplifting melodies contrasting with the deep sensation of the bass. A couple of selections I found myself lost in were Maribou State feat. Pedestrian - Rush Don't Run and Bricks that was blended brilliantly with the rest of the set.
T. Williams seamlessly took over the decks at midnight with a slightly darker underground tone, throwing out some smooth lyrical tunes and much dirtier bass lines. You can easily tell T. Williams has been working his craft a while before being thrust into the limelight, he knows how to control the crowd and his ability to spirits high really made the night. His track Think Of You ended his set and left Breach with the crowd already in the palm of his hand.
His set appealed to our love for the more accessible elements of house music, selections including Dennis Ferrer – Hey Hey and an epic remix of Justin Timberlake – Like I Love You, the basement was eating that remix up! Until the beat changed and the first sound of Jack could be heard in the background. The track was teased in and finally dropped to a roar of approval, the words were sung back to Breach who'd created such a fun and enjoyable atmosphere!
Bugged Out once again please! Bringing brilliant music together to end what has been such a great summer in London.
