With the sweetest of sounds coming from the speakers of the Ticket Arena office it would be mighty selfish of us to keep them to ourselves, so we thought we’d let you in on what our staff use to soundtrack a hard day’s work. Now a weekly feature with the intent of bringing your attention to wonderful new sounds every Tuesday, our Album Of The Week looks at releases from the best in the game, whether fresh new acts about to hit the big time or established artists reminding the world of their continued talent. Simply put, it’s just the best in music that we think you should hear.
Within a genre very much dominated by the South, Bugzy Malone is not only continuously representing the North in grime, but does so with some incredible skill and more importantly, with pride. Boasting the title ‘King Of The North’ in his previous mixtape, his debut album ‘B.Inspired’ cements that deserved association, as he showcases his unparalleled flow of bars that put him among the grime greats. Featuring some beautiful contrasting vocals from the harsh and gritty lines from Malone, the likes of JP Cooper, Rag’N’Bone Man, Laura White and Maverick Sabre offer their talents to the rapper’s first full length records, making for grime and ballad crossovers that display the more solemn side of the emcee, synonymous with some of the topics covered within his lyrics, as he hits on poverty, his experience in gangs and more.
The rapper hits Leeds O2 Academy on Thursday 25th October.
Bugzy Malone takes on three dates for The Warehouse Project’s collaboration with Manchester International Festival, as he takes on the Mayfield Depot venue on Thursday 8th November and Friday 9th November.
Fear Fest also welcome Bugzy Malone to Magna in Rotherham on Saturday 27th October.
