With the sweetest of sounds coming from the speakers of the Ticket Arena office it would be mighty selfish of us to keep them to ourselves, so we thought we’d let you in on what our staff use to soundtrack a hard day’s work. Now a weekly feature with the intent of bringing your attention to wonderful new sounds every Tuesday, our Album Of The Week looks at releases from the best in the game, whether fresh new acts about to hit the big time or established artists reminding the world of their continued talent. Simply put, it’s just the best in music that we think you should hear.
It’s no surprise that after almost a decade of perfecting their production that CamelPhat have managed to create an absolute masterpiece in house cuts. Their House Dawgs EP is released via Lee Foss’s Repopulate Mars label and showcases their hard graft in studying the art of production, with their heavy basslines, high octane, upbeat vocals and enough rhythm to see any house fan through the night. This three track offers a taster of what the pair can do and having had their previous releases dropped by dance music dons Annie Mac, Carl Cox, Pete Tong and more of that calibre, you can expect to hear these tracks lead the way on international dancefloors, too.
If you want to see the dynamic duo live yourself, though, CamelPhat will be seeing in 2018 at London’s Electric Brixton for the ANTS NYE Takeover. They’ll also be at Muzik’s NYE party at Sheffield’s Code Venue. Next year, the pair are bringing their house sound to Malta’s Lost & Found from Thursday 3rd May until Monday 7th.
