With the sweetest of sounds coming from the speakers of the Ticket Arena office it would be mighty selfish of us to keep them to ourselves, so we thought we’d let you in on what our staff use to soundtrack a hard day’s work. Now a weekly feature with the intent of bringing your attention to wonderful new sounds every Monday, our Album Of The Week looks at releases from the best in the game, whether fresh new acts about to hit the big time or established artists reminding the world of their continued talent. Simply put, it’s just the best in music that we think you should hear. Okay you caught us out, the new release from Four Tet is not so much an album, more a collection of his latest work in the form of three brand new tracks. But when they’re this good it’s certainly still worthy of our Album Of The Week title. Named after and made in collaboration with a close and longtime friend, 'Anna Painting' is a truly unique work of art in that it actually goes together with a work of art, as Four Tet and Anna Liber Lewis took to London art gallery using these tracks as an aural supplement for a stunning and striking piece of work in beautiful pastel colours. This release is the first time the tracks have been heard outside of the performance.
Four Tet will be heading to Nova Batida Festival in Portugal between Friday 13th and Monday 16th September alongside the likes of Friendly Fired, Jon Hopkins, Daniel Avery and more. He’ll also be taking part in In:Motion’s tenth and final season celebrating 25 years of Bugged Out! on Friday 25th October.
