Here at Ticket Arena, we like to keep our eyes peels - and more importantly our ears close to the ground in terms of the freshest of releases, which is why our office speakers are constantly soundtracking our hard day’s work with some of the newest sounds out there. We’re here to share our favourites, as every Monday we’re committed to delivering our Album Of The Week, featuring the albums that caught our attention, the artists that deserve the recognition and simply put, the absolute bops that made us move.
Things are a bit mental at the minute, aren’t they? Uncertain times can make people feel unsettled and scared, but no matter your current situation, you can take a little solace in that there are some beautiful sounds available to occupy these somewhat dark moments. The new album from Four Tet truly couldn’t have come at a better time, as his lush mix of ambient beats and club friendly tracks is the perfect combination for those self-isolating as well as those needing their party fix. With completely unique characteristics aiding in this unparalleled production, featuring some peaceful trills of harp, cut up vocal samples from the talents of Ellie Goulding and others, acid-drenched electronica and the inclusion of some idiosyncratic drum machines, Sixteen Oceans may be one of Four Tet’s more eclectic projects yet. Take some time to look after yourself in these trying times, listen to the music you love and allow yourself to enjoy it the best way possible.
Four Tet is headed to Junction 2 in London this June, joining the likes of Honey Dijon, Chaos In The CBD, Jon Hopkins, Adam Beyer, Seth Troxler, Maceo Plex and more at Boston Manor Park on Friday 5th And Saturday 6th June.
