With the sweetest of sounds coming from the speakers of the Ticket Arena office it would be mighty selfish of us to keep them to ourselves, so we thought we’d let you in on what our staff use to soundtrack a hard day’s work. Now a weekly feature with the intent of bringing your attention to wonderful new sounds every Tuesday, our Album Of The Week looks at releases from the best in the game, whether fresh new acts about to hit the big time or established artists reminding the world of their continued talent. Simply put, it’s just the best in music that we think you should hear.
Latmun’s brand spanking new EP does exactly what it says and the drop of his ‘Funky Drummer EP’ is simply a three track project that facilitates the moving of your feet to some, well, funky drums. Joe Bradley’s moniker Latmun has always held a penchant for some polished production, and the tech house DJ and music maker hasn’t ever let standards slip with his steady stream of danceable releases. One of many releases Latmun’s put his name to this year alone, Funky Drummer EP is a tease of what this beat favouring DJ brings to the party as he puts his own stamp on the tech house genre. Filled with raw energy, infectious grooves, catchy cuts and of course, the sharp snares and the piercing hi-hats that make up those funky drums of the synonymous EP.
Latmun takes to Church, Leeds on Friday 2nd November, joined by Huxley, Waze & Oddyssey, on Friday 9th November, he’ll head to EGG London to serve up sounds with Lee Foss, Josh Butler, Nathan Barato and Synthesizer.
