With the sweetest of sounds coming from the speakers of the Ticket Arena office it would be mighty selfish of us to keep them to ourselves, so we thought we’d let you in on what our staff use to soundtrack a hard day’s work. Now a weekly feature with the intent of bringing your attention to wonderful new sounds every Tuesday, our Album Of The Week looks at releases from the best in the game, whether fresh new acts about to hit the big time or established artists reminding the world of their continued talent. Simply put, it’s just the best in music that we think you should hear.
There are many artists who take it upon themselves to experiment with creating new and interesting sounds, but there are very few who have mastered this art quite like Max Cooper. With the release of his highly-anticipated third studio album, One Hundred Billion Sparks, listeners take a journey into an ethereal world filled with emotive lush pads and innovative synth layers that evoke true calm amongst the troubles of everyday life. Hugely inspired by influencers from the likes of Philip Glass, Cooper has produced an audio/visual masterpiece that successfully takes the concept of finding authenticity in a world filled with noise that distracts from the notions of identity. Featuring tracks on the album such as ‘Hope’, ‘Rule 110’, ‘Volition’ and many more, Max Cooper has spent the past ten years honing his musical craft to the level of a virtuoso and his latest album project promises nothing short of multi-dimensional visuals that feel right at home with forward-thinking minimalist sounds.
Catch Max Cooper at The Marble Factory, Bristol on Friday 23rd November.
