With the sweetest of sounds coming from the speakers of the Ticket Arena office it would be mighty selfish of us to keep them to ourselves, so we thought we’d let you in on what our staff use to soundtrack a hard day’s work. Now a weekly feature with the intent of bringing your attention to wonderful new sounds every Tuesday, our Album Of The Week looks at releases from the best in the game, whether fresh new acts about to hit the big time or established artists reminding the world of their continued talent. Simply put, it’s just the best in music that we think you should hear.
Listening to his debut EP, it’s a struggle to believe that Hackney emcee Not3s is only eighteen years old, yet the maturity of his flow and lyrics stands out even alongside the likes of long-time rap star and contributor to the project Tinie Tempah in ‘No Drama’, with an additional feature from Shakka polishing off the track. That’s not all in terms of collaborators on this project, as friend and other young success story MoStack also features on ‘99 + 1’, with an R&B beat sitting under the pair’s alternating bars, creating a complete banger. Having already dropped ‘Addison Lee’ among other singles on the EP, securing a reputation for his rhythmic flow atop of afro-trap combination beats, a slew of other tracks only further certify this rapper’s talent. Take Not3s is a nine track showcase of the artist’s fusion beats and only a taste of what he’s capable of. 2018, watch out!
Not3s will be joining the likes of Tinie Tempah and Cardi B at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse on Saturday 2nd December. Next year, the rapper will be taking to Malta for Annie Mac’s Lost and Found Festival which begins on Thursday 3rd May.
