With the sweetest of sounds coming from the speakers of the Ticket Arena office it would be mighty selfish of us to keep them to ourselves, so we thought we’d let you in on what our staff use to soundtrack a hard day’s work. Now a weekly feature with the intent of bringing your attention to wonderful new sounds every Tuesday, our Album Of The Week looks at releases from the best in the game, whether fresh new acts about to hit the big time or established artists reminding the world of their continued talent. Simply put, it’s just the best in music that we think you should hear.
Not3s is a young rising star on the British rap circuit who has certainly been turning heads this past year after receiving a prestigious nomination for BBC Sound of 2018, signing a major deal with Relentless Records - whose impressive artist roster includes Professor Green and Nadia Rose - as well as releasing chart-topping UK singles from the likes of ‘My Lover’ and ‘Fine Line’. The London-born rapper has now released his second studio album, Take Not3s II, and it is the perfect expression of his roots on a major platform that takes the form of Afro-bashment beats tinted with those London grime aspects. Featuring the incredible single ‘Sit Back Down’ with help from Maleek Berry, this project is definitely taking things to the next level for the Hackney artist as he continues to inspire positive vibes on this album. If you need something fresh for your summer soundtrack, then you don’t want to forget this one!
Not3s is set to bring the energy of his afrobeat music to MADE Festival, Birmingham on Saturday 28th July.
