With the sweetest of sounds coming from the speakers of the Ticket Arena office it would be mighty selfish of us to keep them to ourselves, so we thought we’d let you in on what our staff use to soundtrack a hard day’s work. Now a weekly feature with the intent of bringing your attention to wonderful new sounds every Tuesday, our Album Of The Week looks at releases from the best in the game, whether fresh new acts about to hit the big time or established artists reminding the world of their continued talent. Simply put, it’s just the best in music that we think you should hear.
Following on from her debut breakthrough record Unguarded which was released in 2015, Rae Morris reveals her new and entirely different approach to music making. While Unguarded was a project drenched in drama and ballad style piano alongside Morris’ Kate Bush-esque vocals, Someone Out There borrows some electro-pop sensibilities and experimental sequences while keeping her staple vocal gymnastics as she plunges into unknown territories with unparalleled confidence, comfort and unconstrained capability. This ‘Sandy from Grease’ style transformation for the artist has showcased her boundless talent and aptitude for well performed and produced sounds no matter the style.
Rae Morris takes to Bristol’s Motion venue on Saturday 24th March to offer live renditions from both her brand new release and her back catalogue.
