Life is always better with a soundtrack, and time spent hard at work in the office is no different. Therefore, coming your way every Tuesday will be album of the week; a release we can't contain our excitement for or a record we have been reluctant to take off repeat since its first play. We’ll be putting the time in to explore the world of new releases on a quest to bring you the best. While we’re at it, just because we’re feeling generous, we’ll be digging deep into our collections and giving classic albums the airplay they deserve.
For vocal prowess alone, Rag’n’Bone Man commands a considerable force; an empowering sonic strength that allures all the more once the lungs powering such a voice become familiar to the eye.
The past 12 months have been favourable to the Sussex soul man, seeing his toughened exterior and equally reinforced pipes catapulted square into the public’s consciousness. Having already scooped the Brits Critics Choice Award and amassed near on eight figures in YouTube hits, Rory Graham’s breakthrough success sits atop stable foundations – a privilege enjoyed by so few new-comers that something extra special must surely be on its way from the studio.
You can listen to his debut album Human below.
If you’ve found yourself nodding along to Rag’n’Bone Man’s introspective expressions, you can catch the man himself in Brighton this summer at The Great Escape and Wild Life Festival in May and June respectively. Further live dates for the soul singer include a slot at Serbia’s EXIT Festival in July.
